access lost when click force standby

Hi All,

I am new to F5 technology.. so I am not aware if its a common behaviour of F5.

1. I have configured my Load Balancers to work in Active/standby state. but both the devices are always in active state.

Now, When I click force standby on secondary unit of LB, I lose access to device for few seconds. but when it comes up, Its again active.

Please tell me how should I cpme out of this situation.

  • you mean, assigning dummy IP addresses to mgmt interface..? but these would not be physically connected anyway...

  • It wont be possible...

Even if I assign the IP addresses to mgmt IP addresses, I will not be able to get them physically connected.
  • if i do not misremember, i think it is okay even it is not physically connected.
  • I have lost the access to both the devices after I added the IP address to Load Balancers.
