Entering the pool members does not mean entering the VIP of the webserver.... you have to understand the concept Pool is just a container of different computers which are going to serve one service for example.... when you type www.f5.com this resolves into a public IP lets say... 212.12.11.13 now this public IP can be the VS Visually how it goes is like this...
(User)-----(Internet)------(Virtual server)----- (Pool for HTTP) ------(Member1=172.16.1.1) (Member2=172.16.1.2) (Member3=172.16.1.3)

User on internet Requested service Virtual server Load balances the connection over the members of pool
or Local LAN resolves into this IP refers to its pool
