Have you considered using a monitor with a receive disable string or just using the REST api to take the pool member offline?
- Brad_ParkerNov 17, 2015CirrusHere's a good explanation of a receive disable string. https://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/solutions/public/12000/800/sol12818.html
- jjkast_230900Nov 17, 2015NimbostratusI'm open to all options. I'm just trying to take a little workload off of my team.
- jjkast_230900Nov 17, 2015NimbostratusThat might work. Do you have an example of using the REST api to do it too?
- Brad_ParkerNov 17, 2015CirrusThe API is a bit more involved of a solution, but it is a frame work to edit just about everything on the BigIP via a REST API. https://devcentral.f5.com/wiki/iControlREST.HomePage.ashx This would be an example to disable a pool member. curl -sk -u 'admin:admin' -H "Content-Type: application/json" -X PUT https://192.168.1.246/mgmt/tm/ltm/pool/~Common~Pool1/members/~Common~10.0.0.1:80 '{"session": "user-disabled"}'
- Kevin_Davies_40Nov 17, 2015NacreousBrad thats nice code. I'll use that :-)
