LTM Failover HA Group vs Others

    In addition to Nathan's comments, I would add that HA groups are needed when setting up failover for Vcmp guests on the Viprion system. For Vcmp guests, Vlan failsafe does not seem to work and Gateway failsafe isn't suggested either. HA groups work good but as Nathan stated, you will have to change the way you do failovers as the "force to standby" doesnt work as expected anymore. If you try to failover the usual way, it will go to standby and then back to active because the HA group score takes precedence. When using HA groups, to failover, you simply update the score of one of the objects applying a score on the active box. (ex. change weight on poolA from 50 to 10) I have used HA groups via pools and have had good success.

    Thanks Nathan! Will not be using vcmp, but still HA group seems to be a good option. Thanks much. If you can kindly share any production issues faces with HA group or something to be aware of when designing, will very much apprecaite it!
