So long 2013 and Thanks for all the Tech

#devops #SDN #cloud #OpenStack #IoT Wow. What a year, eh?

This post was actually penned back in the end of November. I try to stay a few weeks ahead just in case things come up that interrupt my ability to post and to cover time periods, like now, when I'm actually on PTO recharging.

Looking back at 2013 it's been a whirlwind of technology and changes, not just for F5 and myself, but the industry in general.

There's been the emergence of SDN as a real "thing" and the continuing maturation of DevOps. Cloud continues to be a strong player influencing technology direction and OpenStack has emerged as a force unto itself. The Internet of Things became something more tangible than a marketing slogan as it became more common to see cars, toasters, and watches enabled with Internet connectivity.

I can only imagine what next year will bring.

It's been my extreme pleasure to be able to blog and share my (sometimes very strong) opinions on all these topics with you, and I am profoundly grateful for all the feedback and encouragement (and disagreement, too) you share with me on Twitter an LinkedIn and e-mail.

So thank you. Without you reading, there's really no reason to blog in the first place. I look forward to being able to share and opine and yes, snark about these technologies and perhaps new ones in the coming year.

In the meantime, have a wonderful holiday season! Catch you next year!
