compression on the backend

Hi,

I have some HTTP servers with compression enabled behind the F5s.

It seems that when going directly to the servers compression is working fine, but when going through F5s VS compression on the backend is not working.

Is this functionality default for F5s?

Do I need to disable compression on the nodes and enable it on the F5s directly to make it work?

I'm not using F5s compression yet, just compression enabled on the HTTP servers.

  • Should work just fine...I have the exact same setup. Apache boxes do the compression.
  • I thought so.

Standard VS is not going in to L7 to analyze it by default.

What kind of version are you running on?

I'm on 10.2 but have done this in 9.4.6, 10.0, 10.1, etc. As long as you aren't stripping accept-encoding headers on the way through, you shouldn't have any issues.
