  • That message is just telling you that you don't have a monitor enabled on that pool. The ltm is unaware of the status of the pool member. Objects that have squares are unmonitored, circles are monitored and up, diamonds are monitored and in a failed status. As a quick test, add an icmp monitor to your pool, you should see your pool member become circles; green if enabled, black if disabled.

    Hope this helps.
  • If I try a different monitor such as https or ICMP, it likes it and turns green but the adfs authentication site stops working. The only way to restore it is disabling the other servers.

  • I know the thread is old, but I was able to fix this issue today by adding a default monitor to the nodes in BigIP LTM v 11.6:

In the console, browse to: Local Traffic > Nodes > Default Monitor

In the "Health Monitors", I moved "icmp" from the "_Available" column to the "Active" column.

    Click "_Update_"

The Nodes in the Node List turned from blue to green.
