Vserver ...

Hi, very new to f5 interface / config etc..

I've got a currently loadbalanced web application (test instance) on a separate product and the setup config is pretty straight forward..

I'm now trying to get this same web app configured behind my test BIP..

I have a IP address and two nodes. This really should be easy.

I've walked through setting up a new iApp multiple times using my config info at hand. According to the BIP the service should be up and listening .. I see a pool with healthy nodes and it says the IP is up..

This is not the case though.. I can not ping the IP address I'm working with and the service does not respond to web calls..

Is there something I am drastically missing here.. in my config. Do I have to setup VLAN stuff for a simple loadbalanced website?

Any pointers to doc / help would be great.

thanks kpfoote

  • it depends on what the IP address of the virtual server and the IP addresses of the nodes are, might be you need SNAT, or something totally different. VLANs could be something also, again depends on situation. would be useful if you can give some more detail.
