GTM location deployment

Hi,

I have a customer which is in Dairy industrial. They have 2 DataCenter base in New Zealand. One in Auckland and the other in Wellington. They have remote office around the world and all of them using BlueCoat proxy. Office location including America, EMEA and Asia.

My question is how many GTM should I deploy here? Does the GTM has to be closer to the users? I am thinking of putting the GTM in Singapore and New Zealand to serve the Bluecoat proxy for rest of the world.

If anybody has a better suggestion, please feel free to comment.

Thanks!

Ben

  • My suggestion would be to place them in a location which is closest to you largest DC's or where your most experienced technical staff are be on hand to support. As Long as you have diverse paths to your GTMs from all allocation's specific placement can be mitigated. Howver, i would personally place my DNS devcies where I can get my hands on them, and not in a remote loaction will little onsite support.

Internal use only? I'd probably place them in the DC's then.

Where do the clients existing dns servers sit? Do they have local dns to each site? Or do they come back to NZ?
