Asymmetric Routing

Hi Experts,

I understand what is nPath or asymmetric routing. I also get that this type of routing reduced processing overload and BW usage by LTM.

But i want to know and understand, where and when this feature is used? Like for what type of applications this nPath is used or what kind of scenarios nPath was meant to be used by F5?

thanks- gseek

  • nPath is typically used when you only need limited request based load balancing and don't want LTM to have to process or see the response headers or content. Some customers use this for streaming applications where the payloads are very large.
