new big-ip models 2000/2200s and 4200v

Hi,

could anyone clearify whats different with new big-ip models 2000s, 2200s, 4200v and so on. What do chars 's' and 'v' stand for in the name of the models?

According to hardware documentation, 2000s and 2200s much more productive, then 1600, and it's not more expensive. So are there any limitations?

I've tried to find useful information on f5.com, but there are only general words.

  • The s stands for ScaleN, the v stands for vCMP. The v platforms should eventually support vCMP.

The 2200s has twice the CPU capacity and HTTP request/second rating as the 2000s. The 4200v has support for more module combinations.

The 1600 supports three modules on 11.2 and lower (but only two on 11.3+). The 2x00s supports two modules for now.

You can check with your F5 or partner SE for more information.
