GTM load balancing - least connections and static persist

Guys, I want to configure the GTM in a way where it chooses VS based in least connections but once this is done I want it to stick the LDNS to the same VS based on a /24 CIDR.

I see that there is a persist option under the wideip config, however enabling this only works for /32's.

The only place I see that you can change the sticky mask is when using static persist load balancing method. However when I use static persist I no longer can use the least connection method.

Does anyone know how I can balance based on least connections and also persist on a /24 level? Thanks.

  • I opened a feature request for this a couple years ago (adjust CIDR for persistence at the WIP)... really surprised we don't have this yet... especially with all the load balancing that's going on now with LDNSs... seems trivial to try and stay persisted to a 32bit address...

Not to much of an issue for internal environments.. another story for Internet facing..

least connection & static persist can't be used together as they are both LB methods..
