Node in route domain

I have a plan to implement route domain in existing system. But I have some question about a node in route domain.

If I have virtual server in route domain %1. Can I have a node is member of this virtual server in common domain (default domain 0)?

or I must config new node in route domain %1.

yes, there are "Strict Isolation" and "Parent ID" settings in route domain.

I am only trying to understand and I may be wrong, but doesn't "strict isolation" have to do with routing only? Reference to a node object in /Common from another partition perhaps should just be OK?

Not sure which version of BIG-IP is being used here, but I have run into an issue on 11.3 with just such a reference, not with the device on which it was configured, but the conf wouldn't sync to the standby sucessfully.

I remove the noded from /Common and re-built them in the same partition the application ran from and things became fine.

I opened a case with Support and was advised to re-build the DB, but I would like to wait until some of the other issues I have are resolved first.

  • Some thoughts, Have you build everything that´s unique in the "standby f5" ? Like all network parts such as RD, VLAN partitions etc. usually that can be forgotten and gives a unsuccessful sync.

routes cannot cross route domain boundaries, unless those route domains have a parent-child relationship, or the Strict Isolation route domain setting is disabled on each route domain.
