RDP Connection drop Firepass 4100

Hi,

 

I'm having the following problem, I really hope that somebody can help me:

 

We're using a Firepass 4100 cluster that is located in our DMZ, that connects to our Production (internal) network. When logged in, the user creates a RDP session to their VMware View workstation. The VMware View connection runs through a F5 loadbalancer.

 

However, I've noticed that users get a RDP connection drop when logged in. They get a "Connection Lost. 1 of 20 tries" about every 20-30 seconds. I don't know why this is happening. It primarily concerns Windows 8 users. I have the same problem when I make a remote connection from my home. I've tried a couple of solutions from this forum, but with no luck:

  • if you have a support contract i would use it now.

     

    if you dont then i would start doing some packet captures to see who closes the connection and see if you can pinpoint the reason and continue from there.

     

    what also would be interesting is to check if it works without firepass / big-ip. would it be possible to configure you firewall to allow direct access without anything in between (only for a safe source address) and see if it happens then. if it does you are probably looking at other things then the firepass / big-ip.

    How come F5 do not have ability to do that ? I am very disappointed even I have support contract. Engineer Not helpful at all. F5 did not investigate instead of request customer to this and do that. I'm so Frustrated. And Just keep this post in 2nd top search result in google.
