Steve,
A few ways. In the GUI if you hover over the hostname of your device it details the big-ip s\w version e.g. 11.2.x. From an SSH session then it's "tmsh show /sys software"
Likewise in the GUI - System/Software Management/Image list will tell you the build. You can also install/reinstall/upgrade big-ip s\w here too.
To backup/restore settings then go to System/Archives.
Hope this helps, N

Hi Nathan,

Steve,
Depending on your version you could be on an old version which use bigpipe commands intead of tmsh.
To show the version of the firware you're running on with bigpipe it's : "b version"
If you don't find the answer on the result of the tmsh command gave by nathan, you can also run : "tmsh show /sys version" It will print informations for the partition loaded and not for others.
