Pool members behind a gateway

Hi,

I am trying to configure a Virtual Server (HTTPS). This have two pool members, both outside the "inside VLAN".

However, when I try to connect to my virtual server, I first get a HTTP certificate warning (so I reach the LTM). Then the connected dies.

When I look at tcpdump for the "inside VLAN", I see that the BigIP is trying to resolve the mac address for the pool members. These members are not part of this VLAN.

Are there any configuration that support having pool members that is not on a VLAN directly connected to the BigIP?

I also want to configure APM for this virtual server at a later point.

  • Hi!

Sounds like a classic case where you can try enabling a snat pool (try automap).

In the Virtual server config, find source translation, enable it and choose automap.

If your client is on the same network as the servers this would solve your problem.

  • Can you post your virtual server and pool configs?

When doing a tcpdump on the LTM capturing traffic between it and the pools, so you see expected traffic flow?
