move config from loaner unit LTM 3600 to Viprion VCMP

Hi all

Hope you can provide me solution in order to move configured config from LTM 3600 to VIprion vcmp guest. PLease suggest what is the best and safe way to move config due to the Viprion VCMP is at production and the suggest solution shall not affect the connection down.

At the moment i am edit the bigip.conf file with added in the require configuraiton --> save. After save , i am run the tmsh load sys config.

PLease let us know if that have any other way to move config and is the solution i suggest will cause any problem ?

Please advice

    Jack,

So the vCMP guest is in production? If so then manually adding the configuration or editing the bigip.conf is your only choice really. Two other ways, UCS import (with no-platform-check no-licence flag) or SCF will overwrite existing configuration.

BTW if you edit the bigip.conf and do load sys config then I would advise this was done in a maintenance window as it will cause a brief traffic outage whilst it loads the config...well that's my belief anyway.

One other way (probably not supported) would be to create an SCF on both and then merge the changes you need from the 3600 to the vCMP SCF file and load the new SCF on the vCMP guest. Again in a maintenance window but I would ensure you had an archive before doing this. Probably wouldn't recommend this method but it's an option.
