HA Configuration

We have 4 LTMs in 2 DC and those are part of common HA Group. Out of these four boxes 3 boxes are active and one box is in standby state. In current scenario HA is configured as:

  1. LTM 2 (in 1st DC) acting as primary will fail over to LTM 1 (in 1st DC)
  2. LTM 1 (in 1st DC) will fail over to LTM 3 (in 2nd DC)
  3. LTM 3 (in Second DC) will fail over to LTM 4 (in 2nd DC)

The requirement is:

  1. LTM 2 (in 1st DC) acting as primary in (DC 1) will fail over to LTM 1 (in 1st DC)
  2. LTM 1 (in 1st DC) will fail over to LTM 3 (in 2nd DC)
  3. LTM 3 (in Second DC) will fail over to LTM 4 (in 2nd DC) And,
  4. LTM 4 (in 2nd DC) will act as primary in (DC 2) will fail over to LTM 3 (in 2nd DC)
  5. LTM 3 (in 2nd DC) will fail over to LTM 2 (in 1st DC)
  6. LTM 2 (in 1st DC) will fail over to LTM 1 (in 1st DC).

Can any one please help to me to understand how we can achieve this? and there will be any impact of doing so??

  • Hi Amit,

The above requirement shows that you are using TMOS Ver11.4.0 or above.... also as per your above details you have only one Fail-over group with 4 devices in it. First I will suggest you to put the requirement of Failing one device to two or more different devices in series and on priority, once done go to the Traffic group and put the devices in Failover preferences to achieve the above.
