How do I apply for the key(10.1.0 Virtual Edition Trial (LTM Only))?

    Hi, not sure if you really need Version 10?

     

    If not, you can go here: https://f5.com/products/trials/product-trials and will receive an email with the key and download instructions after giving your details.

     

    Keep in mind the Current Trial is Version 11.3, so you will miss features from the current version for your eval, not shure what you want to see/try. Hence i´d advise to ask your local F5 contact or Reseller for an Eval, and indicate the Features you´d like to evaluate, and they can provide the current version as well. hope that helps, B

    We don't officially support VMware workstation, but it does work for testing purposes. You can install the BIG-IP VE using these steps:

     

    • Download the VMware OVA images to your local workstation
    • Access the F5 product version download page at https://downloads.f5.com/esd/productlines.jsp.
    • Select BIG-IP v11 x / Virtual Edition you wish to run.
    • Select the Virtual-Edition.
    • Accept the license agreement.
    • Select the BIGIP-xx.x.x.xxxx.x-scsi.ova image file for ESX/i
    • Select a download method (we recommend using FTP).
    • Save the file to the folder you created earlier.
    • In VMware Workstation, select File > Open.
    • Ensure that you select Open Virtual Machine Format Images from the file type list box.
    • Select the BIGIP-xx.x.x.xxxx.x-scsi.ova image file, and then click Open.
    • Name the new virtual machine.

    • Once the import has completed, select bigip_A1 from the Library bar, and then select Edit virtual machine settings.

       

    • Map the network adapters to the correct networks using the following table: Network Adapter Flexible Network Adapter 2 vmxnet3 Network Adapter 3 vmxnet3 (optional) Network Adapter 4 vmxnet3 (optional)

       

    • Power on the BIG-IP image, configure the management interface settings, and then create the external VLAN, self IP address, and default gateway route.

       

    • Select the BIG-IP VE from the Library bar, and then select Power on this virtual machine
