Integrate F5 with Ruby on rails

Hi, Looking to integrate with an application, where it displays all the details of an F5devices, f5vips, Active and standby state, pool members & nodes. can someone suggest a good API to integrate with rails.will iControl supports to fetch my requirements? if can i have link where i can get the documentation
