APM rewriting javascript for Oracle

The APM rewriting engine is having some problem translating special characters from javascript/Oracle. It is a known issues that was escalated to the F5 dev team, but was never resolved. We upgrade to Oracle 12 now and want to publish this resource to our portal, but we face the same issues. I have tried to use bypass the URI in the rewrite profile. This approach did not work because it'll act like a redirection to an internet URL. We still want to reverse proxy to this internal resource but without converting to hex digits, i.e. https://portal.company.com/oracleserver.company.com/ Any suggestion?

  • if you want it on a webtop portal, you'll need the rewriting engine and the host obfuscation will take place. As the webapps become more and more complex (ajax..) I fear that it will be difficult for F5 to cope with that. I have raised a couple of issues myself with the rewriting engine and I've been "strongly advised" to move to a LTM+APM deployment.

  • We've done that with LTM+APM back in Oracle11, but had the same issue. THe case escalated to development with multiple iRules but never get resolved. We move out to Oracle12 cloud and back to square 1.
