TMOS 11.4.1 HF 8 Build 0.681 - Configsync does not Sync Route domain OSPF settings

I have had a standalone 7200v-FIPS (7200A) running as a standalone device with route-domain 0 enabled for OSPF and working fine for weeks. Yesterday I stood up a second 7200v-FIPS (7200B) and successfully created a Sync-Failover device group and got config sync working. After the config sync the floating IP's for the traffic group updated to the bravo unit and all virtual servers and pools updated during the config sync also.

Configsync runs fine and I can verify changes from 7200A do get updated to 7200B when I run a configsync, but the route-domain 0 OSPF settings do not.

root@(7200A)(cfg-sync In Sync)(Active)(/Common)(tmos) list net route-domain net route-domain 0 { description "Default Route Domain" id 0 routing-protocol { OSPFv2 } strict disabled vlans { HA VLAN134 VLAN132 VLAN133 } }

root@(7200B)(cfg-sync In Sync)(Standby)(/Common)(tmos) list net route-domain net route-domain 0 { id 0 vlans { VLAN134 HA VLAN133 VLAN132 } }

Is that just a blind spot in the config sync for 11.4.1? I found a manual entry that talked about it on the F5 website: https://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/products/big-ip_ltm/manuals/product/tmos-ip-routing-administration-11-2-0/4.html But that is specific to 11.2.0 and 11.2.1; is there a way to get the route domain settings to sync or is that just something I need to remember to setup on each device in the device group if I am using OSPF? Is this addressed or fixed in 11.6 if I upgrade? Any information appreciated.

Thanks, Steve

  • Route domains are part of the base network config that isn't replicated. The configuration for route domains needs to happen on both devices.
