How do I upgrade from 10.2.4 to 11.x while changing hardware?

Going from 10.2.4 1500 to 11.x 5250.

I'm trying to figure the process to do this... the problem I see is that I can't import a 10.2.4. config archive to 11.x directly, right?

I can't upgrade 1500 to 11.x , then export config to import on 5250 because the 1500 can't run 11.x.

I can't downgrade 5250 to 10.2.4., then import config from 1500, then upgrade to 11.x because the 5250 can't run 10.2.4.

Am I overlooking an option here? Is there a procedure for converting a 10.2.4. config archive to 11.x compatibility, so we can import it on a different device?

  • Hi, You can put 10.2.4 to 11.5 but found some error because configuration have some change the syntax and properties. You should be manually modify the config when found an error. I'm prefer you open the case with F5 support to help you. I'm recommend to
  • yeah pretty much what Nut says.

you can restore a version 10 UCS on a version 11 platform. there will be issues due to the difference in interfaces and such. but you can extract your UCS, make changes, compress it again and restore it. this isn't the easiest process if you haven't done it before so perhaps a partner or F5 support can help out.
