BIGIQ sync issue

I have BIGIQs is a HA Peer Group. We updated the software and the 02 device reverted to using the default IP address for the 01 device. This caused the pair to go out of sync. I went into the 02 device and deleted the 01 from its settings as it wouldnt let me edit it. Then readded the 01 device to it. Both devices now show in sync and clustered. But when I go into the Web ui I get this message on both devices.

Warning Secondary Device This is a secondary BIG-IQ system. Do not modify its configuration. Make any required configuration changes on the primary BIG-IQ system. The data displayed on this device may be out of date.

Doesnt matter if I go into the 01 or the 02 device.

Any suggestions on how to resolve this?

  • On your 01 device, delete the 02 device from your HA Peer System group (under BIG-IQ system). Verify that the UI says Standalone in the upper left.

On your 02 device, delete the 01 device from your HA Peer System group. Verify that the UI says Standalone in the upper left.

When both devices are in standalone, choose the device that you want to be the active device and add the other device to the HA peer system group from that device. This should re-establish the HA relationship.

I attempted the steps you recommended, however it still was giving me the error. I performed the steps again, but rebooted both devices before adding the 02 device as the peer and it worked that time.
