Sync failed after Hotfix install

We have a pair of F5's running BIG-IP 11.3.0 Build 3138.0 We have two traffic groups. One on each F5. Due to the sod daemin issue we had a service failure and so now both traffic groups are offered by one F5 and the intention was to upgrade the other to Hotfix 10 which IO duly did but on reboot the F5s failed to sync with this message

Status Sync Failed Summary A validation error occurred while syncing to a remote device Details

Sync error on F5B Load failed from F5A **01070901:3: Invalid field: profile_mblb in egress_high**
Recommended action: Review the error message and determine corrective action on the device

I backed out of the Hotfix but had the same error on reboot Any help gratefully received

The problem somehow was resolved however has arisen again. I have another HA pair on 11.3. Build 2806 and want to install Hotfix10 without disruptions. With live services on F5-1 I installed Hotfix10 on F5-2. Upon reboot I got another sync failed and this time the only solution was to back out and resync which this time worked. Is it the case then that I cannot sync if the F5's are running different Hotfixes? How can I do a non-disruptive upgrade? I had hoped that the following would work a. Fail over services to F5-1 b. Install upgrade on F5-2 c. Failover test services to F5-2 d. When happy fail over production services to F5-2 e. Upgrade F5-1 to Hotfix 10 f. Fail over traffic groups as appropriate
