can't ping from server to internet

I can ping from BIG-IP to any ip on internet such as 8.8.8.8, but the problem is i can't ping from back-end server to 8.8.8.8 I created vServer for outbound "IP Forwarding" and Internal vlan only with allow all protocols, but unfortunately still not ping, it only reach self-ip :172.16.0.145 for internal VLAN and after that stop.

-Internal VLAN: 172.16.0.0/24, Server: 172.16.0.44

-External VLAN: 192.168.33.0/24: External IP: 192.168.33.145

  • Hello, Do you have the BIGIP's self-ip set as the default gateway on the server? Thanks.
  • Hello, default GW on server is 172.16.0.145 which is self-ip for internal VLAN
  • Hello again faziz,

What do your routes look like on the BIG-IP?

Consider the BIG-IP to have basically two networks, one for the "management plane" and one for the "data plane". Given your scenario it sounds like your management plane has a route to the internet (thus traffic from the management network, such as ping, ssh, telnet works) but your data plane does not.

I would not suggest attempting to cross data traffic over to route out of the management network.

If you do a "tmsh show net route" is the gateway reachable via the management port or the external vlan?
