Issue : Cannot access config mode via cli from TMSH ..

Guys ; Very mundane question / issue I cannot access config prompt from TMSH -

Logging into LTM defaults to TMSH prompt as expected / desired.

When I type in exit it does not drop me to config prompt - gives me "Use "quit" to end the current session" If I type quit I get logged out.

CTRL Z also does not work .. Ver = BIG-IP 11.6.0 Build 5.0.429 Hotfix HF5

Is this a known bug / is there something I am unaware of in the configuration etc ... ?

Thanks !

  • Have you tried "run util bash"

    root@(INDIA-ATM-GTM-SGDC)(cfg-sync Changes Pending)(Standby)(/Common)(tmos)

  • Type bash at tmsh prompt, assuming this is what you mean by config prompt.

  • Yeah use run util bash sometimes the "quit" or "q" doesn't work and you get logged off of f5 LB directly, I didn't dig in to it for the reason but you can always use "run util bash".
