Has anyone done a full proxy using the FQDN to Google.com

I have a need to do a full proxy to a few host names out there in the cloud. In my mind I fee like this should work using a FQDN node in 11.6.0, but I can't seem to get it to work. Has anyone out there been able to get it to work? If so, what type of VIP did you use and how did you set it up.

  • I figured it out last night.

Looks like my problem was I that I was using a SNAT from a SNAT Pool I had set up, but it started working when I set the SNAT to AUTO MAP. The VIP wasn't on the same VLAN as my default route, so by setting the SNAT to AUTO MAP it uses the SELF IP on the default route. Hope that make sense.

I also setup set up the VIP as a type Performance Layer 4, and am using Source Address persistence.

Hope this helps anyone that has the same problem.

  • 11.6 saw a bug that broke FQDN nodes. I am not sure if that has been fixed. There is a EHF for it though. I ran into this after my 11.6 upgrade with LTM/ASM.

  • The FQDN issues in 11.6.0 have indeed been fixed
