apm 12.1.0 + vmware access point + connection server (horizon 7)

Hi folks,

So far i've managed to setup the below with iapp template ( f5.vmware_view.v1.3.0):

APM + connection server (working in both view client and HTML5) APM + accesspoint + connection server (working in view client but not html5)

I understand accesspoint is not that much necessary as per iapp guide but still want to figure out why it failed

Accessing directly to accesspoint + connection server is working in HTML5 and view client though.

A few things i've noticed is by default the iapp doesn't create 8443 VS, but it's indeed working when APM+connection server.

i've tried to setup a 8443 VS (with pool being Accesspoint:443) on Accesspoint blastExternalUrl i've tried to set to either or but no luck.

Also there is a SOL, but it doesn't seems to make any difference, https://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/solutions/public/k/84/sol84958121.html

  • could you clarify what accesspoint is? im unfamiliar with that in relation to vmware view.

    the same with blastExternalUrl

is your F5 BIG-IP setup in between fully?

  • Here you go.

  • I've first tried to add accesspoint ip as a Remote desktop and assign webtop to authenticated user, it works only for view client.

Then i've used another way to do APM+LTM, it works for HTML5 but i couldn't figure out the SSO part.

  • ok i now get access point, VMware's (awful) choice to name their somewhat of a replacement for the security server.

i would say you are pretty much working outside of what is meant to work. sure it might but APM is not built to do that, it is meant as a replacement. just as it wasn't meant to be run before a security server.
