GTM Topology level load balancing fail over case to round robin

Hello,

We are using GTM for toplogy level load balancing on WIP level, across 4 data centers. If one of the data center is out of rotation, what will happen to the calls in that proximity range. Is those calls will fall on remaining data centers in round robin method or to the next nearest data center based on proximity.

If the calls direct to next nearest data center, that data center is receiving almost double the connections compared to the remaining data centers. So, in this particular case, when a data center is out of rotation, can we send all the calls from only in that location to remaining data centers in round robin fashion.

Appreciate any guidance on this...

Thanks.

    1. Preferred.
    2. Alternate.
    3. Fallback method.

That would be the order of choosing as far as load balancing algorithm goes.

    Wide IP-level load balancing

A wide IP contains two or more pools. The Global Traffic Manager load balances requests, first to a specific pool, and then to a specific virtual server in the selected pool. If the preferred, alternate, and fallback load balancing methods that are configured for the pool or virtual server fail, then the requests fail, or the system falls back to DNS.
