routing external vlan self ip

currently have LTM setup to route traffic inbound to our network, using the internal vlan.

I am trying to create an outbound connection where the source ip for the VS uses the external vlan self ip address. How can this be done the LTM?

if you assign SNAT-Automap to the virtual it should source nat the traffic behind the egress interface. If that's outbound then it'll be the external self IP. Is this what you are after?

  • As part of F5 setup a default route has to be created which will route unknown destination to egress gateway. If you did not configured external default gateway you can configure one or

If you have strict network requirement where you should not route unknown destination traffic through external gateway. Create a custom route based on destination IP you cannot do based on source IP (external self IP).

  • currently automap sources nats the traffic to the internal vlan going inbound. I want the traffic to be sourced going outbound.

So do you have a forwarding vip for that? You could configure a SNAT to translate an internal range, or ranges, behind a SNAT address e.g. Your external IP
