GSLB not failing over when HA F5 fails.

Hi,

 

I have configured GSLB with wide IPs in my virtual environment. I have got two F5s working in Active/Passive HA. When I fail over to the standby F5 the GSLB pool and Wide IP does not come back up. they show red.

    Do you have 2 F5 devices in Active/Passive and running only GTM/DNS module ?

     

    Check the logs on the GTM.

     

    Have you made sure that the GTM can communicate with the relevant WIP resources ?

      gtm is dns server, where have you seen dns in active standby? it can be primary or secondary but always active. you can not configure failover for gtm/dns. if you want you can configure listener as a part of traffic group and active box of the traffic group will reply but gtma are still active. the negative side of that, build on bind will not work, since it is listening on non floating ip addreess only
