If you refer to URI translation, as changing the URI is sent to the server, there is a major difference.
If you use HTTP:redirect, the browser will send a new HTTP request, and update the address bar.
If you use HTTP:uri to change the URI, only the server sees that. So, the client is not aware of the change, neither the browser makes a new HTTP request or changes the address bar.
