F5 interface logs

Hello every one,

 

we are using the F5 LTMs 2000s in our environment. I have faced the following logs messaged on the F5.

 

Jul 19 14:16:43 tmm1 warning tmm1[8672]: 01230002:4: Interface 0.2: link is down Jul 19 14:16:43 tmm3 warning tmm3[8674]: 01230002:4: Interface 0.4: link is down Jul 19 14:16:43 tmm2 warning tmm2[8673]: 01230002:4: Interface 0.3: link is down Jul 19 14:16:43 tmm warning tmm[8671]: 01230002:4: Interface 0.1: link is down

kindly tell me what are these logs and why they are produced. thanks.

  • These are logged when your physical interfaces suffer a loss in network connectivity and are subsequently regain network access. This could be a result of someone physically unplugging cables or interfaces on switches being re-set. If links are constantly flapping it could be indicative of a wider network problem
