F5 GTM 12.1.2 log mcpd error repeatly

Hi,

 

we found out log error after upgrade F5 GTM from 11.4.1 to 12.1.2. (this is just some two line. we have log like this many line and different object on each line)

 

Sep 18 17:11:00 gtm02 err mcpd[6182]: 01020036:3: The requested gtm pool (/Common/Pool_192.168.1.170) was not found.

 

Sep 18 17:11:01 gtm02 err mcpd[6182]: 01020036:3: The requested gtm pool member (/Common/Pool_192.168.1.176 gtm_ltm /Common/VS_210_10_104_15) was not found.

 

Is this an issue or it's benign log?

 

How to correct this? or v.12 is not good for GTM Thank you

    Probably means the configuration did not load correctly. Did you reactivate the license before the upgrade? If not, just reactive the license and reload the configuration using the following commands:

    tmsh load sys config partitions all

    If license is not the problem, better you open a ticket with F5 support, as they need work with you to check the configuration.

      no. it's just GTM+LTM combo in ha-pair.

      If no EM, these errors don't seem benign to me. Here are a few basic things to start with:

      Does the config object actually exist (and is it supposed to)?

      grep -i /config/* Pool_192.168.1.170

      Is iquery working between all GTMs and LTMs?

      iqdump

      Is the configuration corrupted?

      tmsh load sys config verify gtm-only
Validating GTM system configuration...
  /usr/local/gtm/include/gtm_base_region_isp.conf
  /usr/share/monitors/gtm_base_monitors.conf

    In your environment if GTM is monitored by EM, you might end up with bug ID 583624. It is a known issue related to the EM managing and monitoring GTMs.This is because EM does not support monitoring DNS on version 12.x. The issue lies in the updates to version 12 DNS module that the EM no longer can properly probe.

     

    Unfortunately, there is no fix or workaround for this ID

     

    To avoid this, on EM need to disable the stats collection for GTM.

     

    EM will work fine for the LTM side of things and there is no impact to DNS functionality.

      I have the integration of two GTM (DNS) with an LTM, I am thinking that the error that the MCPD is having is due to the LTM.

      We have try to backup configuration and try to test installation again.

       

      Problem is gone.

       

      So I not sure if it about configuration which we use or it's a rare case for GTM+LTM combo.

       

      we also open case with F5 but when they try to imitate in their lab. Problem not occur too.

       

      How is your situation?

    Hi Kridsana

    verify the configuration with the command

    tmsh load sys config verify

    but no problem was found.

    you could also delete and restart the mcpd

     touch /service/mcpd/forceload
 touch /forcefsck
 reboot

    but it does not solve anything.

    This problem causes me intermittences in the response of the service

    DNS listener

    also try to add routes by management and although they appear in the configuration, they are not loaded.

    With this my best option is to reinstall the big-ip from scratch, since I am having many problems.
