F5 BIP IP froze/hangs in EUD

Hi Community,

 

We are running EUD in a BIP appliances i4000 but the process take more than one hour and still show these message:

 

EUD in progress Product: F5 Networks En User Diagnostics Build: EUD_SF build 3.2.0.28.0 Platform: BIG-IP i4000 Series

 

We copy the EUD files in /var/tmp, reboot the appliance a choose to ran the verification but still is in progress

 

Anyone have idea why is taking more time as expected? If removed the powe cable is not a problem later for the appliance?

  • The memory test on an EUD can easily take hours. I would suggest that you connect to the console and run the EUD from there, as it will give you a bit more feedback. You can also omit the memory test. You may not wish to do that, depending on why you are running the EUD.

     

    The 4000 has 16GB of RAM, so it will almost certainly take more than an hour (probably several).

     

    As the filesystem is not mounted during the EUD, you should be able to pull the plug, but I would not recommend it.

    Your BigIP should have come with the relevant console cable.

    Yes we was connected via Console Cable, before and after run EUD.

     

    When the BIG IP was booted we ran EDU and no option was show us, only the message in the front of F5 appliance.

  • The last message that appeared in the CLI was something like these, no more option

     

     

  • If you boot the box with the console connected, can you successfully boot into the OS, or is it hanging there as well? You can try a clean install of our software (make sure you have a good backup off the box), but if that fails you are likely looking at an RMA.
