traffic-group-local-only in F5

When we initially run the Setup utility on a device or upgrade from a previous BIG-IP® version, the system creates two default traffic groups: default traffic group named traffic-group-1 and default non-floating traffic group named traffic-group-local-only. My question is why it produces second one traffic-group-local-only? any special function? thanks

  • traffic-group-local-only is exactly what it sounds like - a local traffic group specific to the device. It will contain your self IP addresses that are specific to that device, that cannot be shared with peer device
