Viprion Clustering

In a Viprion system, by default, all blades are members of a cluster and process traffic in parallel. Is it possible to configure each blade to run independent from the cluster with its own configuration that is different from the other blades?

Thanks!

  • The only way you have to do that is by using vCMP. Basically you can virtualise different “big-ip” systems dedicated in each blade. Other than that is not possible.

  • Thanks Daniel. I should have mentioned that we are implementing vCMP. Is there a special command to disable clustering or can I just log in to each blade and create my guests after licensing the system?

    Thanks again,

  • you manage from one IP, not per blade (yes you can have IPs per blade for things like reboots). and you don't have to do anything for that, it is the default setting.
