GTM design question

Hello,

 

I am new to GTM world and I am looking for some assistance with respect to design.

 

We are currently using GTM and LTM on Viprion device with LTM in active/standby and GTM in active/active. So, we have two DCs and GTM are syncing across dedicated WAN links between DCs.

 

Now, I have this ask to change the setup and move GTMs to completely different Data Centers that is common for our multiple locations so that DNS management is easier to handle.

 

Our LTMs are hosting 3000+ urls / apps on it. Now, I am trying to understand what can be the pros and cons of moving GTM to different DCs. Please note that currently since GTM are in same DC with LTM so polling between GTM and LTM is very efficient and we have already allowed jumbo frames. Also, this setup including GTM and LTM usually have frequent changes on it due to addition / removal of urls.

 

What can be the disadvantages if time response between GTM and LTM is high and if Jumbo frames are not allowed? Like any issue with polling or Iqueries that can be experienced?

 

Just trying to understand if keeping GTM near to LTM is better as compared to GTM being located in a different location.
