Unable to reactivate 90 days free license on the same machine which was crashed earlier

My objective: To prepare for F201 exam and gets Hands-on at LTM product.

 

ISSUE: I have download BIGIP-11.3.0.39.0 VE and run on my Virtual machine having VMvare Worsktation ver: 9.09.0 build-812388. I tried to activate my 90 days license by using Key1 but FAILED . Then I use Key 2 and successful.

 

Question1: What is the difference between below two Key? Which key should I use and which version of BIGIP should I use ?

 

Further, my machine has crashed and I tried to again reactivate my 90 day trial license using below Key but getting error that it is already used.

 

Q2: How I can re-activate my trial license and which license key I should use.

 

BIG-IP Registration key(s) from F5: LCFLS-XJGQN-XXXXX-XXXXX-YIRQMHG (LTM, Per App VE, 3 Instances) ---->I am referring it as Key 1 VTQMN-NUHZE-XXXXX-XXXXX-NWCOSXG (Service Scaling VE) --->I am referring it as Key 2

 

Looking forward for some feedback to move forward

    The key can be reactivated in the same VE instance only. If you recreated, copied or moved VE instance then you are not able to reactivate the key any more. this is considered as a different box from key point of view. If the key is not expired yet, you need to call support for ability to activate the key on new instance.

     

    No one can tell you the key difference but support team

     

    A key does not linked to the version. It linked to the machine. You can install any version if the key is not expired and if your hardware/ve meets minimum system requirements for the version you are going to use.

     

    For VE editions however. the latest version you can go with depends on license type. You need to contact support team to get information about your license limits.
