  • Questions we didn't get to:

can the conversion scripts create irules automatically in order to maintain the same traffic management as done with ACE??

No, it only handles the basic objects, though redirection iRules are very simple. If you get stuck, post in the iRules forum and we'll take care of you.

how about cisco csm, ACE script will also work for CSM ?

There is a script linked on the https://devcentral.f5.com/resources/migrations page for CSS/CSM/ACE as well as Radware and Citrix.

can u keep the TCP session with the f5, when f5 is not the default GW ?

Yes, use a snat automap or a snat pool on the virtual and the traffic will be natted appropriate to have traffic return to the BIG-IP

I have a question about memcache. Can the IP load balancer be aware of a consistant hash and distribute based on a shared pool of servers?

Yes, you can use the carp profile to assist with this, or roll your own

can i get rid of my checkpoint fw's and use f5?

F5 is a default deny box, it will not pass traffic unless you configure it to do so. The firewall tools are perhaps not as granular as other firewall products, but the performance is far better than you'll ever get on a point solution from anyone else. The tools improve in a MAJOR way with our next release, which is targeted very shortly.
  • ADF and AFM look very useful and pretty, dare I say it, sexy. Anything else you can tell us prior to v11.3's release?
  • 11.3 is out as of yesterday. CMP on VE is my favorite new feature. But there are many. Check out the release notes on ask.f5.com!
