Publish an application using APM and bypass DNS

Hello,

We have VS for an application call "Test" with dst IP: 10.10.10.10

In the organization's DNS, "Test" IP is: 172.16.10.10

We want to publish "Test" using APM.

In Access Policy -> Portal Access -> Portal Access List

When creating a new object to be published,

In "Application URI" I wrote: ""

In the local HOSTS file (System -> Configuration -> device -> Hosts)

I added that 10.10.10.10 = "Test"

When doing ping from the F5 shell to "Test" I get "10.10.10.10" as expected

But, when using TCPDUMP to catch the packets while clicking on the object from the full webtop,

I see that F5 is communicating with "Test" using his real IP 172.16.10.10.

How can I force the APM to go to "Test" with IP address 10.10.10.10 and without using the DNS resolution?

Regards,

Noam.

  • Hi Noam,

Unfortunately you are hitting a limitation of the system that is being tracked by ID 223060. To help prioritize this ID I would suggest opening a case with support asking to be linked, which will give attention to this being fixed.
