GTM and Wide IPs

I am new for GTM

GTM and Wide IPs

I have UNIX server which is authoritative for the top-level domain, Example.com

have 2 GTM boxes and made NS for wip.example.com 2 GTM was assinged in unix server as NS for wip.example.com and sub domains

now i want to have new DNS record test.Example.com, which is hosted in 2 LTM and both LTM mapped with 2 GTM

so i want to do changes for test.Example.com in UNIX server

and in GTM want to create WIDE IP and A recrods for 2 locations

i have east LTM and west LTM , so two VIP need map in Wide IP

My Plan:

Create CNAME in Unix server test.exmaple.com to test.wip.exmaple.com So request will forward to GTM boxes, I guess

IN GTM i creat wide IP forward.wip.exmaple.com and has two servers as mentioned below

forward.east.wip.exmaple.com forward.west.wip.exmaple.com

In zone runner

under wip.example.com

creat a records for LTM IP

forward.east.wip.exmaple.com IP1 A forward.west.wip.exmaple.com IP2 A

I need steps if any missing or corrections

  • You should probably send your first text.example.com CNAME forward.wip.example.com in this case, or you could change your WIP to test.wip.example.com.

  • Hi henric,

Can you please let me know what steps need to take from gtm box

Wide up Zone records For Test.exaple.com

  • You do not need to do anything in Zone runner.

Once your GTM and LTM are communicating over iQuery:

    1. On the GTM, add the new Virtual Servers under their respective LTM Server Objects.
    2. On the GTM, build a pool that includes these two LTM VIP IPs.
    3. On the GTM, build the WideIP using the pool and your new FQDN, test.wip.exmaple.com.
    4. Test the resolution by using dig/nslookup against the GTM Listener, for test.wip.exmaple.com.
    5. If all is good, put in CNAME.

One other thing, you will need A records on the DNS servers for the GTMs, to support the NS records.

    Good Luck!
