How to upgrade BIG IQ with DCD in place.

I am planning to upgrade Big IQ from 5.4 to 6.1 with DCD (data collection device in place). I have been through multiple articles but got messed up. Can you please provide me steps and precautions to upgrade it. Also if it is possible then please provide steps and precautions to upgrade DCD (Data Collection Device)
