F5 as gateway cannot connect on 2nd attempt

Hi Guys,

We have an issue with the server 192.168.1.10 that is connected on F5 (F5 is its gateway). So the scenario is

  1. When we connect on the server 192.168.1.10 port 80 it is successful
  2. When we connect on the server 192.168.1.10 port 80 it is NOT successful

We are using same source server. Is there any possible blocking on the f5 side? By the way the source server is also under the F5

I think we would need more details but a high level response would be to focus on what listeners you have configured. F5 is a default deny box so you would need s virtual server to allow traffic.

It may be that you have a VS configured to allow inbound server connections on port 80, but for the server to talk outbound via the bigip then you'd probably have a forwarding virtual.

Hope this helps but if not then a few more details re your setup may help.
