ltm performance issues

So I'm moving from another vendor to LTM VE. I have created a VS with a couple web servers behind it. When doing API calls to this VS or even direct (via NAT) to the servers they respond slower than the other vendors setup. Other vendor is physical and 1 gig ports. the VE is licensed for 1 gig so I would anticipate the same speeds but I'm seeing all testing is about twice as slow on the LTM VE. Support says everything looks good. I've tried changing the TCP profile from TCP to TCP Mobile and still no gains in response time (based on this https://devcentral.f5.com/articles/stop-using-the-base-tcp-profile ). Anything else I should be looking a?
