APM error when not using FQDN

Hello there,

I feel like I'm missing something obvious here, but I fairly basic virtual server that I've assigned an APM policy to. For some reason if I type just the hostname of the DNS record into my browser, the access policy gives me the following error:

"BIG-IP can not find session information in the request. This can happen because your browser restarted after an add-on was installed. If this occurred, click the link below to continue. This can also happen because cookies are disabled in your browser. If so, enable cookies in your browser and start a new session."

This only seems to occur if I type the shortened name of the site, such as If I type the full FQDN, I got the username and password boxes to login as expected.

I've assigned the default TCP profile, the default http profile an SSL client profile with a cert for just "hostname", the default server ssl profile and the APM policy which has a simple username and password prompt for AD authentication.

Has anyone run into this before? Something with the HTTP profile perhaps?
