BigIP 5250v: SNMP works but some typical OID's don't exist like CPU usage

Hi,

We have a pair of BigIP LTM 6800 running. I can query CPU Usage ratio 5m on them (oid .1.3.6.1.4.1.3375.2.1.1.2.20.37.0)

Now, we also started using a pair of 5250v BigIP. SNMP is configured correctly, I can access lots of info. However, OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.3375.2.1.1.2.20.37.0 doesn't give any data.

The F5 MIB for subtree .1.3.6.1.4.1.3375.2.1.1.2.20 has LOTS of entries. My old 6800 only returns values for about 8 of them. The new 5250v only returns "ResetStats".

Anybody any ideas? According to the information, the OID should still give the correct info.

The 5250v run 11.6, HF4.

Thanks Vincent

  • Yes I did. I can retrieve the CPU's, index and slot id. But not a single statistic is available for these cpu's. I'm going to open a case and report back here.

  • Turns out I was using SNMP v1. I needed to use SNMP v2. (or v3) It's stated somewhere in the documentation, I just missed it. You do get some values back with SNMP v1, that's why there was confusion.
