LTM BIGIP SUDO COMMAND

Regarding the article https://support.f5.com/csp/article/K519, is it possible to use the Linux “sudo” tool on the Big-IP appliance to be able to configure multiple non-root users that scale root privileges for certain commands without having to use the root user?

  • Hi Joad

This article is obsolete. Why do you need to use "sudo" tool? Why do you need other users to have root-like privileges? As BIG-IP runs on top of Linux, you can pretty much do whatever you want at your own risk. However, the proper way to manage users and assign roles is described in our manual. Pretty much everything that you should run by design is available both on tmsh or GUI.

Many thanks for your answer Rodrigo.

This is a customer request but I also think that the best solution is the one you suggested.

    Kind Regards
