"net rpc" command in external monitor failing after Windows patching on servers

Hi - we use LTM 11.5.2, and have an external monitor which employs a series of "net rpc" commands under the covers to check the status of Windows services on real servers.

Those monitors started failing, after the Windows servers were updated with patches to turn off SMBv1.

The version of Samba associated with the net command is apparently Version 3.0.33-3.15 (per net -V). That version indeed does not support SMBv2 ... partial support wasn't added till Samba 3.6, full support arrived in Samba 4.

So, we either need to upgrade, or install and use a different version of at least the "net" command; or adopt a different approach in monitoring the servers involved.

Can anyone clarify, what version of TMOS would we need to move to in order to have support for SMBv2? And, has anyone successfully installed an alternate version of the Samba "net" command? Finally, are there different approaches to monitoring the status of a Windows service, other than use of "net rpc status"?

Thank you!
